Kargil, Sep 13: The 3rd Taekwondo Training Camp, spanning 7 days, successfully concluded at Mulbekh on Wednesday. Over 84 students from various schools actively participated, benefiting from expert training provided by International Taekwondo Player, Tashi Tundup.
The camp was a collaborative effort between the Ladakh Taekwondo Association and Spring Dale Public School Mulbekh, marking the third consecutive year of their partnership.
The concluding day saw the President of Ladakh Taekwondo Association, Gulzar Hussain Munshi, as the Chief Guest, while the Principal of Spring Dale Public School served as the Guest of Honour. During this event, the players showcased their newly acquired skills through impressive demonstrations.
The Chief Guest extended his congratulations to Tashi Tundup for his remarkable achievement of representing India at the World University Games, thus bringing recognition to the entire UT Ladakh. Gulzar Hussain Munshi, while expressing gratitude towards Spring Dale Public School, commended the International Player for giving back to society by establishing the first Taekwondo Club in the Shargole Block. He pledged ongoing support for the club’s future endeavors but also urged community involvement.
Principal Tsewang Nurboo of Spring Dale Public School expressed appreciation to President Gulzar Hussain Munshi for organizing the camp for the third time at his school, benefiting the children of the Shargole area. Nissar Hussain Balkhani emphasized that this was the third camp organized by the Association to identify talent across all corners of Ladakh. He highlighted the achievements of Ladakh Taekwondo Association, boasting over 100 Black Belts, including 40 girls, multiple international and national players, 2 Sher-e-Kashmir Awardees, 1 State Awardee, an International Referee, and 15 Professional National Referees, a testament to their extensive work in sports since 1999.
The Chief Guest later distributed certificates to the players and presented mementos to Spring Dale Public School Mulbekh and Druk Padma Karpo School Kachey for their valuable contributions throughout the camp, along with recognizing the presence of media personnel.
Also in attendance at this memorable occasion were Chief Technical Expert Ladakh, Nissar Hussain Taekwondo Balkhani, Association Mohammad Ali Baghi, Cashier of Ladakh Taekwondo Association, Mohd Ali Baghi, Vice Principal of Spring Dale Public School, and supportive parents.
