Srinagar, Mar 10: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Saturday revealed that there are currently three principal positions and five headmaster positions lying vacant in Baramulla Constituency.
In response to a query from Javid Hassan Beig during the Assembly session, the Minister responsible for school education indicated that these vacancies exist across four educational zones, namely Baramulla, Fatehgarh, Singhpora Kalan, and Chandoosa.
The Minister also noted that there are 22 government school buildings in Baramulla district that are deemed unsafe.
Plans are underway for the construction of new buildings to replace those that are abandoned, as well as the completion of existing incomplete structures, under the SAMAGRA SHIKSHA initiative, as well as the UT Capex and District Capex programs.
Additionally, the process for the rationalization of teaching staff in Baramulla, similar to that in other districts, has commenced and is anticipated to be implemented shortly.
Furthermore, the Minister reported that over the past two years, 90 lower-tier teaching and non-teaching staff members in the Baramulla district have been promoted to higher positions by the District Promotion Committees (DPCs).
