Jammu, Aug 25: The Oasis Movement, in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) and the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), J&K, successfully concluded the Oasis-DSEJ Life Camp Festival 2024 at Teacher Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The event, aimed at advancing holistic learning and leadership development, marked a significant milestone in the region’s educational transformation.
Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary of the School Education Department, was the chief guest at the valedictory ceremony. Several dignitaries, including Parikshit Singh Manhas, Director SCERT, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Director School Education Jammu, Kanta Devi, Special Secretary SED, and H.R. Pakhroo, Joint Director SCERT, attended the event.
The three-day festival featured the Oasis Jyotirdhar Workshop, designed to train Key Resource Persons (KRPs) from Jammu Division. The workshop, focused on self-leadership and character building, was attended by over 500 participants.
In his keynote address, Alok Kumar emphasized the critical role of teachers in nation-building, calling them the architects of society. He lauded the Oasis Movement for promoting the “Education of Heart” mantra, which integrates intellectual, emotional, and ethical development. He urged SCERT and the education department to implement transformational changes under NEP 2020.
The event also saw the launch of five educational books, aimed at fostering leadership and self-development among students, and the felicitation of 17 meritorious students from Jammu Division’s 12th class, who were awarded digital tablets.
