Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Post Palhallan headed by IC PP Palhallan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan at a checkpoint established at Ghat Palhallan intercepted two persons who were travelling on Pulsar bike bearing registration number JK01R-8327.
During their search, 1.320 kgs of contraband Charas Powder like substance was recovered from their possession, who were later identified as Ali Mohammad Pandith son of Mohammad Ismail resident of Trikolbal Pattan & Mohammad Rafiq Ahanger son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Mureedoora Hawal Srinagar.
They have been arrested and shifted to PS Pattan where they he remain in custody.
Accordingly, case under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Pattan and investigations have been initiated.
“We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112,” he said.
The spokesman said that people are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law, he added
