Pulwama, Feb 13: Authorities have sealed 14 clinical establishments in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district for violating norms, officials said.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Pulwama, Dr. Tehmeena Jameel revealed that a routine inspection drive led to the sealing of these establishments, which included dental clinics, laboratories, and an ophthalmology clinic.
“These clinics were found operating in unhygienic conditions and without proper registration,” she said, adding that repeated instructions had been issued to them over the past year to comply with regulations.
She added that clinic owners had been informed multiple times through media and social networking platforms to complete their registration processes. However, despite repeated warnings, they continued to function illegally.
The CMO urged people to open clinical establishments after seeking permission from competent authorities.
“The public should ensure that the clinics they visit have proper authorization and meet hygiene standards,” she advised, urging people to report any illegal operations to the authorities.
Dr. Jameel reiterated that strict action would be taken against those violating the norms. “Any clinic found operating without proper permission will be sealed,” she warned.
A few weeks ago, similar action was taken against several dental clinics and dental laboratories in Pulwama town and nearby villages for failing to adhere to regulations.
