Srinagar police books two fraudsters for selling ‘fake gold biscuits’

Srinagar, June 10: Jammu and Kashmir Police made a significant arrest on Saturday in Srinagar, arresting two fraudsters who were found in possession of 440 fake gold biscuits.
Police have identified these fraudsters as Tahir Ahmad Mughal from Choth Waliwar Ganderbal and Nazir Ahmad Khan from Kupwara (presently residing in Baghi Mehtab, Srinagar), were allegedly plotting to deceive the public by selling these fake gold biscuits.
Srinagar police in a tweet said, “Two Fraudsters namely: 1) Tahir Ahmad Mughal of Choth waliwar ganderbal & 2) Nazir Ahmad Khan of kupwara a/p Baghi mehtab Srinagar arrested with 440 fake gold biscuits. They were planning to cheat the public by selling them gold. FIR in relevant sections registered in Bemina PS.”
Police officials said, “Taking the strong of this illegal activity, the Srinagar police officials acted swiftly, preventing any potential harm to buyers. A case has been registered at Bemina Police Station under relevant sections of the law.”
This arrest highlights the efforts of the Srinagar Police in combating fraudulent activities and safeguarding the public from falling victim to such scams. The incident serves as a reminder for individuals to remain vigilant while engaging in financial transactions involving valuable commodities like gold.
