People in Kashmir often face water related problems with the beginning of Chillai Kalan (40 days of harsh winter) particularly in the remote areas and because of the minus temperature, steel water pipes often freeze.

He further said that in many areas the filtration plant and the drinking water pipes have frozen which cause problems to people during winters.
