Ganderbal, Nov 15: With his mesmerising voice, a 10-year-old boy from the Anderwan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district is getting popular with each passing day by singing rap songs.
Jameel Ahmad Chichi, a class 5th student, is singing songs of Sidhu Moosewala and RCR on the themes of ‘mother’s greatness’. He is waiting for an opportunity to work on a large platform to demonstrate his skills and has appealed to the government to provide him with support and facilities.
Talking to Rising Kashmir, Jameel said it was two years ago when he first time listened to hip-hop songs and got interested in them. “Then I decided to choose this field,” he said.
“I am not writing songs but I just watch Sidhu Moosewala and RCP on YouTube and start performing. I have not yet got an opportunity to perform at the district level. I want to represent Kashmir on big platforms,” he said. “My parents support me, and I want the people also to support me.”
Jameel’s brother Javaid Ahmad said, “He is very fond of raps. He used to snatch my phone to listen to songs on YouTube. We supported him. In fact, we must support youth who want to follow their dreams. With encouragement and determination, one will definitely achieve his or her life goal.”
