Srinagar, June 12: Prominent politician Zaffer Mir (Lasjan) on Sunday visited the Chattergam area of Chadoora where he met with his ground-level workers and addressed several pressing issues faced by the locals.
During this visit, one of the major concerns brought to his attention was the hazardous installation of an electric transformer in Ganai Mohalla. “This transformer has been installed at an alarmingly low height without proper insulation that poses a significant threat to the local residents and animals in the area. I would take up this matter with the concerned officials of the power department to ensure any untoward incident is averted and remedial measures are taken at the earliest,” Zaffer said in a statement.
Expressing his discontent, Zaffer Mir criticized both the NC and BJP-PDP regimes for their “mismanagement and lack of interest” to resolve public issues which he said has resulted in the underdevelopment of the area and has caused immense problems for the general public.
Furthermore, Zaffer Mir advocated for the construction of a school on the chunk of custodian land in Chattergam. “Recognizing the abundance of land available, the District Administration Budgam must take all necessary steps for catering to the educational needs of the local community and construct a new school building on this land which is spacious and aptly equipped,” he said.
He shared that he has personally engaged with the Director Education Department multiple times, pushing for the urgent construction of this school. Mir cautioned his political workers about the National Conference’s “emotive and deceptive politics, particularly during the times of election”.
“I must question the track record of NC and their ability to deliver on their promises. They solely focus on securing power to further their financial interests, while neglecting the genuine needs of the people. We have just recently seen how many leaders of this party have amassed huge wealth outside J&K while presenting themselves as saints without a penny before the people of Valley. These shams won’t work anymore,” he said.
