• ‘10th International Day of Yoga live streamed across all 20 districts’
• Participation of 57,550 people were recorded in UT
Srinagar, June 30: Yoga Mahotsava activities prelude to 10th International Day of Yoga was started on 13th March, 2024 in the UT of J&K under the broad theme of “ YOGA FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT” with a special focus of Yoga towards women folk of the society.
229 Yoga activities/sessions were conducted till June 20, 2024 Yoga Mahotsava campaign, wherein 54,498 enthusiasts participated in various Yoga programs organized by Directorate of Ayush, J&K at Institutional, Community and District levels in collaboration with various line Departments, Governmental and Non- Governmental organizations.
The main event of 10th International Day of Yoga was celebrated under this year’s theme of “Yoga for Self and Society” at SKICC Srinagar on 21st June 2024, wherein Prime Minister of India,, Narendra Modi led the huge gathering of more than 7000 Yoga enthusiasts..
This event was live streamed across all the 20 Districts of J&K and respective District Administrations in collaboration with all line Departments held IDY-2024 events at District level. In addition, IDY- 2024 event was also celebrated at 19 famous tourist destinations of UT of J&K, wherein tourists/locals actively participated in CYP Yoga sessions.
Another mega event of IDY-2024 was celebrated at Maulana Azad Stadium Jammu by the District Administration Jammu in collaboration with Directorate of Ayush J&K, wherein more than 2000 participants performed Yoga and 3000 persons performed Yoga in various Ayush Arogya Mandirs & other Institutions of line Departments.
In total, 119 Yoga events were organized across all the Districts of UT of J&K during IDY-2024 and practised Yoga asans and Pranayam based on common yoga protocol. The participation of 57,550 people were recorded in the UT of J&k during IDY-2024 on 21st June 2024 in various events organized in Educational Institutions, Health Institutions, Public Places, etc.
In all, 348 Yoga events were organized to celebrate 10th International day of yoga with massive participation of 1,12,106 people in collaboration with various Organizations in the UT of J&K.
