Budgam, Feb 23: The Wildlife Department on Thursday rescued the Barn Owl from the Ichkoot village in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Bashir Ahmad Bhat, block officer from the Wildlife Control Room Budgam, told Rising Kashmir that children from the Ichkoot village captured the Barn Owl in the village on Wednesday evening.
After taking its care for night, the locals contacted Wildlife officials. “After we received the information, we reached the spot and took the bird from them and sent it to Dachigam National Park in Srinagar,” he said.
Bhat informed that Barn Owl is one of the species in the Kashmir valley that could be found in many areas of the valley.
