Rajouri, Sep 19: The Department of Computer Sciences, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) kick-started a one-week online Faculty Development Programme on ‘Cyber Security in the Era of Artificial Intelligence’. About 120 participants have registered for the programme.
Vice Chancellor BGSBU Prof Akbar Masood congratulated the department for organising the event. In his message, he said such events are important for the professional growth and development of the faculty members in their pursuit of academic excellence. Prof Akbar hoped that the FDP would benefit the participants and would be a great academic achievement for the department.
Dr Majid Bashir Malik, Head of the Department, presented the welcome address and threw light on the cyber attacks supplemented with AI and the need of the hour to counter such attacks.
Mohd Ishaq, Registrar, BGSB University was the chief guest of the inaugural session of the FDP. He appreciated the Head, Department of Computer Science and his team for putting the best of their efforts to organise this FDP which has relevance to the current era of technology.
One day one of FDP, Prof Mansaf Alam, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi delivered a talk on “Applications of Block Chain in Cyber Security”, Dr Gulfam Ahamad, BGSB University delivered a talk on “Security Concern in Digital Devices: A Cyber Security Perspective” and Prof Om Pal, University of Delhi (North Campus) delivered a talk on “Cyber Security and preventive measures to deal with cyber crime”.
The event was anchored by Hanifa Aslam, a student of IMCA, Department of Computer Science and overall management is being taken care of by Dr Mohd Naseem and Dr Gulfam Ahamad, both Assistant Professors at Department of Computer Science, BGSBU.
