Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drug from the society, Budgam Police arrested 02 Drug Peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A Police spokesperson said, ” During naka checking at Choon Crossing, police party from Police station Budgam intercepted one suspicious person who after noticing the police party tried to flee from the spot, however, with the diligent efforts of police he was overpowered and apprehended who was later identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar alias Nik Khan S/O Ghulam Qadir Dar R/O Razwan Budgam.”
“Upon his personal search, 7 grams of heroin like substance and 20 grams* of charas like substance was recovered.”
He said that similarly, police party from police station Budgam while performing patrolling in Ichigam area of district Budgam intercepted one suspicious person at Ichigam Chowk. Upon priliminary questioningly, the said person disclosed his identity as Ghulam Mustafa Rather S/O Mohammad Abdullah Rather R/O Ichigam. During his personal search, 05 Kgs of poppy straw was recovered.
” Case FIR Nos 157/2023 & 154/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered respectively at P/S Budgam and investigation taken up”, he said.
