Doda, Aug 04: A comprehensive training session for newly appointed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) was held at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, Doda.As per a statement issued here, the session was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, who also serves as the District Election Officer and was supervised by ACR Doda, Ashraf Parvez, who holds the additional charge of Deputy District Election Officer and also serves as Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) for AC-52 Doda. The training aimed to sensitize the BLOs about their critical role in the electoral process from accurate voter list management to responsibilities at the polling stations. During the session, the Deputy Commissioner urged BLOs to conduct thorough door-to-door verification to ensure correct entries in the electoral rolls. He stressed the importance of identifying eligible voters who have recently attained the prescribed age as well as removing names of deceased individuals and women who have migrated due to marriage. ACR Doda reviewed the status of basic facilities at polling stations and instructed the BLOs to assess infrastructure and report any deficiencies to ensure Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs). Master Trainers delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation covering the duties of BLOs during various phases of the electoral process. Key topics included addition, deletion, correction and migration in the electoral rolls using the correct forms and nomenclature. BLOs were also informed about the different types of rolls such as the draft, final and integrated electoral rolls, along with the standard procedures, legal responsibilities, and reporting protocols under the supervision of the Election Naib Tehsildar and other officials of the District Election Office.
