Ganderbal: In a tragic incident, a driver and his conductor lost their lives in a road accident when a truck plunged into a deep gorge near Buzgoo Nimoo on the Srinagar-Leh highway in Ladakh on Friday.
According to officials, a truck with registration number JK03D/5004, en route from Srinagar to Leh, veered off the road and fell into a 400-ft deep gorge near Buzgoo area in Leh district.
Authorities reported that upon receiving the distress call, the police, Army ambulance, and locals rushed to the scene. Sadly, the conductor and the driver of the vehicle were pronounced dead on the spot.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Shahnawaz Sadiq Sofi, a resident of Saloora, and Zahoor Ahmad Wani, hailing from Yangoora Ganderbal.
