He said the project is to be launched throughout the country beginning with Northeast states, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
“Our regional centre will look after Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh union territories,” The Regional Director said.
SATHEE (Self-Assessment, Test and Help for Entrance Exams) is a collaborative effort which aims to provide a comprehensive and free learning and assessment platform for students preparing for competitive exams.
The Regional Director informed that students preparing for competitive examinations like JEE and NEET will get assistance in the form of SATHEE Mitras.
The officials said that under the SATHEE MITRA scheme, a holistic approach to mentoring is emphasized, combining face-to-face guidance with audio-video support.
SATHEE Mitras, individuals entrusted with mentoring, will be strategically placed in specific locations known as SATHEE Kendras.
The officials said that the inaugural SATHEE Kendra will be operational from the IGNOU Regional Centre in Saida Kadal, Srinagar.
Candidates aspiring to become SATHEE Mitras are required to have a BSc. (Honors) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Mathematics. Additionally, a post-graduation qualification, coupled with experience in preparing students for competitive examinations, is considered desirable.
The SATHEE Kendras are slated to operate at least six days a week for two hours each day, with Sundays and government holidays designated as off days.
“Off days can be utilized for additional classes, tests, or other activities as needed,” the officials said.
The Regional Director said that they have asked applications from desirable candidates for SATHEE Mitras through google form and they will send them to IIT Kanpur for further course of action at their end.
