Srinagar, July 08: Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has successfully fulfilled textbook requisitions on schedule this year, making improvement over last year’s delays, officials said.
Officials from the academic and publication wing of JKBOSE told Rising Kashmir that amid various logistical challenges, JKBOSE’s timely delivery ensures that students across the region have their essential textbooks well on time.
Chairman JKBOSE Dr Parikshat Singh Manhas told Rising Kashmir that the board prioritized uniform supply to both government and private schools, ensuring no student would suffer from a lack of textbooks. “The facts and figures available with us supplement the same,”
He attributed this success to meticulous planning and the dedicated efforts of the Textbook Division, which coordinated production, logistics, and distribution to ensure every education zone received textbooks on time.
With the timely supply of textbooks, schools can proceed with their academic planning without delays or disruptions, officials said, adding that however, additional requirements from some quarters at the start of the academic session posed challenges.
They emphasized the need for accurate and timely communication of textbook requirements to facilitate smooth procurement.
They underscored the role of private booksellers in maintaining the supply chain for timely delivery to private schools and also addressed the attempts by some unscrupulous elements to mislead stakeholders about the availability of textbooks, stating that JKBOSE’s timely intervention thwarted these efforts.
They said that this year, JKBOSE revised all textbooks before publishing to provide updated, rationalized material. Additionally, new textbooks were developed in line with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2022 (NCF-FS 2022), modeled on NCERT textbooks.
They also said that the Curriculum Development Research Wing of JKBOSE, which is committed to developing high-quality educational content, played a key role in this process.
All textbooks from classes 1 to 12 have been made available on the JKBOSE official website, www.jkbose.nic.in to ensure easy access for students and educators, they added.
