Three notorious drug smugglers booked under PIT NDPS Act in Anantnag

As a part of its sustained efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure public safety, Police in Anantnag have booked three notorious drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act, while a habitual fraudster has been detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA).

The three notorious drug smugglers namely Zubair Ahmad Ganie son of Mohammad Ramzan Ganie resident of Gund Bagh Seer Hamdan (involved in case FIR No. 04/2024 under NDPS Act at PS Mattan), Bashir Ahmad Khan son of Mohammad Yousuf Khan resident of Gopalpora Mattan (implicated in case FIR No. 89/2024 under NDPS Act at PS Mattan) and Sartaj Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rashid Bhat resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara (involved in case FIR No. 14/2024 under NDPS Act at PS Bijbehara) have been booked under PIT NDPS Act.

Additionally, Police in Anantnag also detained a notorious fraudster namely Bilal Ahmad Lone alias Dr. Bilal, son of Mohammad Akbar Lone resident of Maratgam, Handwara under the PSA. Known for his involvement in multiple fraudulent activities, Bilal Ahmad Lone has caused significant public distress.

Police remains steadfast in its commitment to eradicating drug-related crimes, fraud, and other illegal activities. The public is urged to support these efforts by reporting suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the designated helpline. Together, we can build a safer and Drug-Free society.
