Srinagar, Sept 28: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Tarun Chugh on Saturday said that those associated with terrorism will have to remain behind bars or in the graveyards. He claimed that the National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah is losing both of his seats in the ongoing assembly elections.
Talking to reporters, Chugh said the rallies, roadshows and massive voter turnout in Jammu & Kashmir have become possible only due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The Abdullah family would have never come out of their home without security, but for the first time, they are campaigning in open cars, which is the outcome of PM Modi’s rule,” he said.
He said, “The three families—Abdullahs, Muftis and Gandhis— have made Himalayan mistakes in J&K due to which the communal conflict was witnessed, but now it is heading towards progress as under PM Modi’s rule, J&K has been converted into tourist capital from terrorism capital, adding that the BJP government has constructed AIIMS and other developmental projects here.”
Chugh said that Abdullahs have ruled J&K in the past 70 years but it has failed to ensure proper roads, railways and other developments here.
Asked about Omar Abdullah’s statement on Ravinder Raina losing his seat in the Nowshera Assembly segment, Chugh said the NC leader has “already lost previous elections, which he had predicted much earlier”. “This time too, I am predicting his defeat from both the constituencies,” he said.
The BJP leader further said that those dancing to the tunes of Pakistan and its Defence Minister will never succeed in their dreams of winning elections.
About encounters in J&K, he said the party has a clear stand of zero tolerance on terrorism and those behind the killing of J&K people will either go into the jails or in the graveyards. (KNO)
