Kulgam, Jan 31: In a life-saving response, Kulgam Police swiftly rescued a pregnant woman in urgent need of medical help in the remote village of Humpathri in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The distress call came on Wednesday morning, with a few inches of snow making the road slippery.
An official said that the caller, Mashkoor Ahmad, a resident of Humpathri, reported that a pregnant woman was enduring unbearable pain and stranded in the snow-bound area of Humpathri DK Marag, located 20 kilometers away from the main market of Damhal Hanjipora.
He said, responding promptly to the distress call, Kulgam Police took immediate action to address the critical situation. The pregnant woman was identified as residing in Humpathri, and due to the challenging weather conditions, she found herself in a precarious situation.
“The swift actions of Kulgam Police personnel, mobilized to Humpathri village to rescue the pregnant lady. The distressed caller provided crucial information that allowed the police to locate and provide the necessary assistance,” he said.
He said the pregnant woman was carefully transported to a nearby hospital by Kulgam Police in an official vehicle. The timely response from the police ensured that she received the immediate medical attention as required.
