Srinagar, Sep 08: A Vocational Training programme was organized today by the Social Welfare department at GGHSS- Raj Bagh to equip students with different courses/ opportunities available in the field of skill development.
A statement issued here said that the vocational Training programmes enable students to become self–employed or find employment in government or private sectors. It empowers individuals to become financially independent by providing those means to earn a living after completing their education. Speaking at the event, Shabnum, Lecturer Government Women Polytechnic College, Bemina mentioned the need of acquiring Skill based education and modelling career based on the skill and then turning them into successful entrepreneurships. Saba, Project Manager DIC discussed the number of opportunities available and also encouraged the students to orient their careers based on the need of the market. Gender Specialist and Specialist in Financial Literacy from SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of Women- Mission Shakti, Srinagar also provided detailed information regarding livelihood opportunities and various skill courses offered by the Social Welfare department under Mission Shakti. Coordinator Child Helpline also provided information about the services offered by Mission Vatsalya and Juvenile Justice Act in the interest of girls.
