Stay vigilant, enemies looking for chances to disrupt peace in J&K: DGP to security officers

Jammu, Nov 08: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K R R Swain on Wednesday stressed upon officers to be vigilant saying the enemies are looking for the chances to disrupt the peace. He lauded the “good work” and efforts of forces and of intelligence agencies in fighting terrorism in south Kashmir. 
“The peaceful atmosphere in Jammu & Kashmir has been achieved after a lot of hard work and sacrifices by police and security forces,” the DGP said while chairing meetings with senior officers of the Army, CRPF and Police to take a firsthand review of the current security scenario of Shopian and Pulwama districts. 
The DGP, who was accompanied by the ADGP Law & Order J&K, Vijay Kumar and IGP Vidhi Kumar Birdi, was received at these districts by the SSP Shopian and SSP Pulwama. Ceremonial guards of honour were presented to the DGP on his arrival in these districts. 
During the meeting, the DGP said, ‘To uproot the terrorism completely, more joint efforts are needed. He called for enhancing synergy among the forces to the next level. He emphasised coordination among ranks at different levels in planning and executing actions for zero terror plans and directed working on plans for area domination on a routine basis.  
In these meetings, discussions were held regarding enhancing coordination between the forces besides the intelligence agencies. “People-friendly policing and security of the vulnerable population plans for zero terror and area domination and the working of police stations and their requirements were discussed,” a police spokesperson said. 
While impressing for the safety and security of the people, Swain stressed generating more human intelligence, adding that people’s welfare is J&K Police’s prime concern. He impressed upon the officers to work with professionalism, sincerity and a dedicated manner for the safety & security of all the people. “JKP along with other sister agencies have succeeded in creating a conducive atmosphere in the UT and to maintain it is a big challenge,” he said.  
The DGP also took stock of the working of police stations and their requirements. He directed the officers to take care of the immediate needs of jawans so that they could discharge their duties without any difficulty.
The meeting at Shopian was attended by ADG CRPF Nalin Prabhat, GoC Victor Force Major General Balbir Singh, IG Kashmir Ops CRPF Gyanendra Kumar Verma, DIG SKR Rayees Mohammad Bhat, Sector 02 Commander Anirudh Chohan, DIG CRPF Kulvinder Singh Jaswal, SSP Shopian Tanushree, COs of 44 RR, 34 RR & 02 RR, COs of 14th Bn CRPF & 178 Bn CRPF and other senior jurisdictional officers of the district. 
At Pulwama, besides ADGP L&O, ADGP CRPF, IGP Kashmir, IGP CRPF, DIsG SKR & CRPF the meeting was attended by 5 Sector Commander, SSP Pulwama Mohd Yousuf, Army Commandants of 50 RR, 53 RR & 55 RR, Commandants of CRPF 183 Bn. & 182 Bn.
