The Jammu-Srinagar highway, has been blocked due to intermittent shooting stones at certain places caused by heavy rainfall along NHW and snowfall between Ramsoo and Banihal.

The traffic police recommend avoiding travel on NHW until the road is cleared and advise consulting the traffic control unit before commencing the journey.

The Mughal road and Srinagar-Sonamarg road are already closed for traffic due to snow accumulation.

Notably, Jammu and Kashmir experienced a new snowfall, prompting the closure of several roads in the Kashmir region on Thursday. The government swiftly initiated snow clearance operations early in the morning.

In the railway department, officials reassured that train services will continue as usual from Baramulla to Banihal section. However, passengers were cautioned about possible delays attributed to adverse weather conditions. The railway authorities appealed for cooperation to ensure smoother journeys.(KNS).
