Sunderbani, Aug 28: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, Social Welfare Department Rajouri, in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris NGO and the AYUSH Department, Thursday organized a special Wellness Camp for Senior Citizens at PWD Dak Bunglow Sunderbani.A statement issued here, the camp was coordinated by Tehsil Social Welfare Officer (TSWO) Rahul Puri, under the guidance of District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Abdul Raheem and the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri. The programme commenced with a heartwarming counselling session by the Brahma Kumaris team, focusing on emotional well-being, strategies to overcome loneliness and living a fulfilling life in old age. Participants were also educated about their legal rights and the various welfare initiatives of the Government of India for senior citizens.The camp offered multiple on-the-spot services, including sanction of pending old age pension cases, redressal of pension grievances and assistance regarding arrears of pensions. In addition, a health check-up drive was conducted by Dr. Manish and his team from the AYUSH Department, followed by free distribution of medicines to all participants. Organised under the framework of the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojna, the camp witnessed the participation of over 150 senior citizens, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving the overall health and welfare of the elderly population in the district.
