Jammu, Aug 13: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) held an alumni interaction at the School of Mechanical Engineering with Mr Sumeet Shekhar (Manager TVS Motors R D) and Mrs Preeti Rai (HR-Edgeverse), both alumni of SMVDU.
The alumni highlighted the need for improving soft skills and working on interdisciplinary projects apart from focusing on core subjects of engineering. They expressed their willingness to contribute towards training, mentoring and supporting their alma mater.
Prof Deepak Kumar (Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology, IIT Delhi) was the chief guest on the occasion who shared his ideas with the students. The possible areas of collaboration were also discussed during the interaction.
Dr Mir Irfan Ul Haq, Assistant Professor, SME, coordinated the interaction and thanked the alumni for remembering their alma mater. Dr Ankush Raina and Dr Rajiv Kumar from SMVDU were also present during the interaction and also expressed their ideas regarding bridging industry-academia gaps. Dr Y Anand, Alumni Coordinator and Prof E Muthuswamy, Head, School of Mechanical Engineering conveyed best wishes to the alumni.
