SMC Humhama Ward 33 organizes mega plantation drive

Srinagar Aug 17: The SMC Humhama Ward 33 organized a mega plantation drive at New Airport Road, Sir Syed Avenue Rawalpora and adjoining areas under the aegis of nation-wide campaign Meri Mati Mera Desh on Thursday. 
The drive was organized and supervised by the Ward Officer Humhama, Abdul Majeed, Sanitation Officer Riyaz Ahmad, and other officers from the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Humhama Ward 33.  
Ward Officer, inaugurated the event by planting the first sapling at the Sir Syed Avenue, Rawalpora. A total of 50 saplings of indigenous species were planted by the participants. Locals also attended the event. Ward Officer briefed the volunteers about the theme and objectives of Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign. He emphasized upon the need of natural resources and their judicious use for ensuring sustainable development.
