Srinagar, Oct 15: One Day Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Programme on “Mobilization of Educated Unemployed Youth Towards Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Sericulture’’ sponsored the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) was organized today on today by Division of Cocoon Crop Production, College of Temperate Sericulture, in which fifty participants were registered. At the outset, Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Dar, Assistant Professor, CoTS, Mirgund welcomed the guests & the participants. The coordinator of the programme Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Dar deliberated upon the aims and objectives of the programme. He impressed upon the participants to become job providers instead of job seekers.
Prof. M. F. Baqual, Prof. N. A. Ganie, Prof. I. L. Khan and Dr. Sabiya Ashraf gave detailed presentations and lectures regarding different avenues and entrepreneurship opportunities in the field of sericulture. The participants were also demonstrated different practical demonstrations viz., visit to mulberry germplasm bank, intercropping block, low cost rearing hut model and museum of the college for increasing their enthusiasm towards sericulture. At the end, Dr. K. A. Dar, coordinator of the programme presented vote of thanks and expressed his gratitude to Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir, Director Research, SKUAST-Kashmir and Associate Dean, CoTS, Mirgund, for support and cooperation for implementation of the programme.
