Shaheen welcomes Cong leader, supporters into JD(U)

Srinagar, Aug 31: Janata Dal (United) on Saturday said senior political leader Ghulam Mohammad Dar from Sonawari Bandipora, along with his supporters, officially joined the party here.
The induction took place in the presence of JD(U) Jammu & Kashmir President, G M Shaheen, who warmly welcomed the new members into the party fold, a statement issued here said.
Expressing his delight, Shaheen said, “Today, a senior political leader from Congress, Sonawari Bandipora, along with his supporters, joined our ranks. This addition strengthens our party’s position in the Bandipora district.”
Dar expressed his gratitude towards the JD(U) president and others for their warm welcome. He thanked the district body and all his supporters.
“I’m extremely happy to have joined JD(U) in the presence of GM Shaheen Sahib. Although I was previously associated with the Congress party, I have now formally joined JD(U) along with all my supporters,” Dar said. “I am committed to working tirelessly, day and night, to strengthen the party as we approach the upcoming assembly elections. I am confident that JD(U) will secure both the Sonawari and Bandipora Constituency seats.”
