“Shaheed Humayun Sports Tournament” concludes in Anantnag

Anantnag, Dec 29: In a vibrant display of sporting enthusiasm, the ‘Shaheed Humayun Sports Tournament’ Volleyball Competitions concluded at the District Police Lines (DPL) in Anantnag. The tournament, organized by the Anantnag Police, aimed to foster sports activities in the district and instill a spirit of athleticism among the youth.
The Boys’ tournament witnessed fierce competition with a total of 10 teams participating. The gripping final match unfolded between Government Degree College (GDC) Khanabal and GDC Uttrasoo, with GDC Khanabal emerging victorious. On the Girls’ side, 8 teams showcased their volleyball prowess, culminating in an exciting final match between GDC Women’s Anantnag and Blue Volleyball Club Anantnag, which was won by Blue Volleyball Club.
In recognition of their outstanding performances, SSP Anantnag, Shri Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, honored the winning and runner-up teams with cash prizes and trophies. Expressing his immense satisfaction with the ongoing sports initiatives in the district, SSP Anantnag conveyed his delight at witnessing the enthusiastic participation of the youth. He assured the gathering that the Police is committed to promoting sports talent, reaffirming the organization’s dedication to organizing more such tournaments in the future. The SSP emphasized the pivotal role of sports in channeling the energy of the youth positively and fostering a culture of health and competition.
