Poonch, Dec 31: Member of Parliament, Ghulam Ali Khatana on Sunday highlighted the significance of the Viksit Bharat Yatra, elucidating its role as a transformative nationwide journey aimed at promoting government schemes. He underscored the significance of various welfare schemes during his address.
Emphasizing that awareness is pivotal for the successful implementation of government initiatives, the MP highlighted how informed citizens play a crucial role in the overall success of these programs. He participated in the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a nationwide campaign dedicated to raising awareness and ensuring the widespread implementation of flagship government schemes.
Secretary, Mining, Dr Rashmi Singh, DDC Chairperson Poonch, Deputy Commissioner Poonch and DDC Vice Chairperson Poonch were also present on the occasion. The event, held at Degree College Poonch, witnessed enthusiastic participation from diverse segments of society.
The campaign, highlighted through an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) van, showcased remarkable success stories of beneficiaries who have thrived under multiple schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), UMEED, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kissan), Poshan Abhiyan, Old Age Pension and more. Notably, a pivotal moment included a message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, personally delivered through the IEC van, underscoring the government’s commitment towards the nation’s development
Various government departments contributed to the vibrancy of the event by setting up stalls at the venue, presenting a visual narrative of the myriad schemes and programs actively being implemented in the district.
On the occasion, PRIs, locals, and students came together during the event to take a collective pledge for a Viksit Bharat, symbolizing a dedicated commitment towards the advancement and progress of our nation.
The ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubaani’ segment featured impactful firsthand accounts from beneficiaries, showcasing the tangible benefits and positive changes brought about by the government’s welfare programs.
The Member Parliament also highlighted the pivotal role of self-employment in fostering economic independence and underscored the transformative potential embedded within these initiatives. He added that the main motive to conduct such programmes is to educate the public and analyse if the benefits of the government schemes are reaching at ground level or not
The Secretary expressed gratitude for the participant’s active involvement and commended the district administration for successfully organizing the program. She urged the people to visit stalls set up by different departments to get familiar with the procedures of different schemes run by the government.
She underscored the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’s role in creating awareness, bridging gaps for inclusive development, and fostering engagement with government schemes.
On the occasion, Member Parliament handed over keys of houses to beneficiaries under PMAY (U) besides presenting permission letters for PMAY houses, cheques of mobilization advance to BLC beneficiaries, sanction letters for high tech playhouse under HADP, Golden Cards to beneficiaries, loan sanction letter of J&K bank under different self-employment generation schemes and keys of passengers vehicles under MUMKIN scheme.
Besides, school bags were also handed over to school girls in addition to a signature campaign organised by the Social Welfare Department under the Beti Padho Beti Bachao initiative.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairman DDC Council Poonch, shared his experience of how he took the benefit of a Centrally Sponsored Scheme like IDDS in setting up a Dairy Business. He added that there are many self-employment schemes run by the government and everyone should take benefits of the same for employment generation.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by the District Development Council Chairperson Poonch, Tazeem Akhter.
