Leh, May 26: Shashanka Ala, Administrative Secretary of the Rural Development Department (RDD), UT Ladakh, Saturday chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Leh, to assess the progress of various schemes under Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in the Union Territory.
The meeting commenced with formal introductions, followed by a detailed PowerPoint presentation by Syed Sajjad Qadri, Director of Rural Development, Leh. The presentation outlined the block-wise progress of ongoing projects under the state sector, along with the implementation status of key schemes. Secretary Ala undertook a thorough review of each block, emphasising the need for timely execution and completion of all developmental works. She directed the concerned Block Development Officers (BDOs) and officials to prioritise the resolution of pending issues to avoid unnecessary delays. Key agenda items included strategies to make Ladakh an Open Defecation Free (ODF) region, the establishment of solid and grey waste management infrastructure, and deliberations on the effective implementation of MGNREGA. Participants actively shared their insights and proposed constructive suggestions during the discussions.
