Srinagar, July 17: Educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir, both government and private, are set to resume classes on July 18th following the conclusion of the summer break. The School Education Department has issued a comprehensive advisory to all Heads of Institutions (HOIs) to ensure several key measures are in place before the teaching-learning process begins.
All areas within the premises, including classrooms, corridors, and common areas, must be thoroughly cleaned. Special attention should be given to maintaining hygienic toilets and disinfecting water tanks to provide safe drinking water. Additionally, rooftops should be free of debris and dirt.
Lawns and grounds must be maintained and trimmed to create a neat and safe environment for students. Any junk, waste, or debris within the school premises should be cleared to maintain a clean and clutter-free environment. Identifying and removing any stagnant water is crucial to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes and other pests. The premises must be inspected for any water leakages and promptly repaired to avoid water wastage and potential damage to the infrastructure.
Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary of the School Education Department, emphasized the importance of these measures to ensure a safe, clean, and conducive environment for students as they return to school. “The schools will reopen after the summer vacation break on July 18th throughout the Union Territory,” Kumar told Rising Kashmir.
