Kishtwar, June 02: G M Saroori, Vice Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), conducted a visit to the Gurinal area in Tehsil Chatroo, District Kishtwar, where he engaged with the local populace to understand and address their grievances.
The visit, as per a party statement issued here, was marked by significant interactions with the general public and local nomads, focusing on pressing issues such as the lack of ration supplies, frequent power cuts, and exorbitant electricity bills from the Power Development Department (PDD).
During his interaction, Saroori emphasized the importance of preparation for the upcoming assembly elections slated for September- October this year. He encouraged the community to choose leaders who are committed to resolving their issues effectively.
Saroori conveyed a message from Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chairman of DPAP, who assured the revival of the Roshni Scheme, aimed at empowering the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Azad Sahab has pledged to transform Jammu and Kashmir into a welfare state through the implementation of various welfare schemes, urging the public to support his leadership for the region’s development,” he said.
The DPAP leader assured the attendees that he would advocate for their legitimate concerns with the appropriate authorities. He expressed gratitude for the community’s participation in the meeting and extended his best wishes for their health and well-being.
In addition to his general public engagement, Saroori spent time with the nomadic communities, listening to their specific challenges and praying for their safe seasonal migrations.
“The visit underscores DPAP’s commitment to grassroots engagement and addressing local issues, reinforcing the party’s resolve to bring tangible improvements to the lives of the people in Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement said.
