Jammu, Aug 30: Priya Sethi, former minister, Prabhari BJP Social Media and J&K National Executive Member and HQ incharge BJP J&K while welcoming the Union government’s decision to slash the price of domestic LPG gas cylinders by Rs 200 has termed it as Raksha Bandhan gift by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the women of the world’s largest democracy.
In a statement issued here, Priya Sethi said the reduction of Rs 200 per cylinder is going to have a far-reaching impact on every household as it will definitely release the existing pressure on the kitchen budget of the common people, especially the women who are at the helm of kitchen affairs.
Elaborating further on this significant decision of the BJP government at the Centre, she informed that around 33 crore people are going to benefit. “It would not be out of context to mention here that while 75 lakh new LPG collections will be provided under the Ujjwala Scheme,” she said.
As per the instant decision, every Ujjwala Scheme beneficiary will get the benefit worth Rs 400 henceforth, she said, adding, “The price of non-subsidised LPG cylinder on 1st Jan 2014 in Delhi was Rs 1,214 and the same stands at Rs 903 from today.”
“The aforesaid decision of the government proves beyond doubt the people-centric credentials of the party and its government at the Centre. BJP does not make promises to break but ensures that its utterances especially pertaining to common people’s welfare are transformed into reality as soon as possible,” the senior BJP leader said, adding, “It is only due to its commitment and excellent performance that the BJP government is nearing its successful completion of its second consecutive of tenure governance.”
