Jammu, Aug 16: Chief Spokesperson BJP Mahila Morcha J&K Ritika Trehan hoisted the national flag in Gandhi Nagar here to mark 77th Independence Day. The party’s senior leaders hoisted the tricolour in every area and every region of Jammu & Kashmir.
Ritika along with Mahila Morcha activists distributed the national flag in every area making “Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan” a grand success, a statement issued here said.
The BJP leader, while addressing the jubilant gathering present on the occasions, said India got its freedom from the colonial rule after a large number of persons made sacrifices. She said that on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava”, Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was undertaken by the masses of India. The campaign has seen unparalleled enthusiasm from the masses and sparked a new wave of patriotism among the youth, she said while saluting every patriot and every soldier who laid down their lives for the nation.
Ritika wished every Indian, especially the residents of J&K, on Independence Day and said the people of the UT are celebrating “Swatantrata Diwas” with passion. This is a very pious occasion for every Indian when we got independence after a hard struggle and many sacrifices, she said.
She extended greetings to the party workers and the public on the occasion of Independence Day. “On this day, we must pledge to work with commitment for the new India free from corruption, illiteracy, casteism, communalism, terrorism, malnutrition, unemployment and insanitation,” she said.
