Srinagar, June 17: The 12th Residential Meet of ICAI Members in Public Service, Civil Services, organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), commenced on Saturday in Srinagar.
This prestigious event brings together 100 Chartered Accountants currently serving in various capacities within all-India services, central services, and state services. The program, hosted by the J&K Branch of NIRC of ICAI, is organized by the Committee for Members in Entrepreneurship and Public Service (CMEPS) of ICAI.
In his remarks, CA. Aniket Sunil Talati, President of ICAI, emphasized the significant contributions made by Chartered Accountants in various spheres of the Indian bureaucracy. Talati praised the members’ rare combination of knowledge, perseverance, integrity, analytical skills, and the ability to shine under pressure. He expressed ICAI’s pride in their contributions and commitment to supporting their continuous learning and skill enhancement through such programs. Talati further highlighted the vital role Chartered Accountants play in regulation, policy development, and administration.
Addressing the participants, CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, Vice-President of ICAI, underscored the unique abilities of Chartered Accountants that extend beyond the core domains of accountancy and auditing. Agarwal stressed that these qualities position them as the preferred choice for various roles in the government. As India emerges as a strong economic force globally, he pointed out the abundant opportunities for Chartered Accountants to pursue challenging and rewarding career options in public service.
During the event, CA. (Dr.) Rajkumar Satyanarayan Adukia, Chairman of the Committee for Members in Entrepreneurship and Public Service, ICAI, delivered the welcome address, while CA. (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, Immediate Past President of ICAI, gave the keynote speech. CA. Purushottamlal Khandelwal, Vice-Chairman of the Committee for Members in Entrepreneurship and Public Service, ICAI, expressed the vote of thanks.
The Inaugural Session, scheduled for June 18, 2023, will witness the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, IAS, Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, will also attend the event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC).
The Residential Meet of ICAI Members in Public Service/Civil Services aims to facilitate knowledge enhancement and skill development among Chartered Accountants serving in the public sector. By equipping them with the necessary tools, the event enables these professionals to make significant contributions to the governance and economic growth of the country.
