Jammu, July 24: Roller Athlete Skating Club (RASC), Jindrah on Monday felicitated roller hockey players with Sanjeev Mahendru Memorial award and Asha Gupta Memorial scholarship in a ceremony held here in the memory of Senior skater Late Sanjeev Mahendru and Late Asha Gupta.
The roller hockey players honored with Sanjeev Mahendru Memorial award are Vinayak Bhagat, Hridyansh Chib, Mridul Kohli, Zayafat John, Tabid Hussain, Daanial Butt and Kyran Gupta, are going to represent the Indian roller hockey team (Under-14) in Macau open roller hockey championship at Macau. Abhinav Bakshi and Arav Jandyal were presented Asha Gupta Memorial scholarship. The scholarship carries an amount of Rupees 2,001 and an award.
Veteran sportsperson, Sudhir Singh Jamwal was the Chief Guest on the occasion while as Maria Valeria penfold Muniz from Brazil was guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudhir Jamwal appreciated the efforts of the club and wished them good luck for their championship. He further said that representing Nation is a dream for every sportsperson and they are very lucky that they are representing the nation at very early age.
RASC members like Bharti Kohli, Aditi Mahajan, Nidhi Gupta Kohli, Maria Valeria Penfold Muniz, Ankush Kohli, Gagan Singh Jamwal, Arya Vir Singh Jamwal, Pardeep Singh Jamwal, Ramneesh Sharma, Nia Kohli, Ani Kohli and the parents of the children were also present on the occasion.
