Baramulla, July 09: Continuing its efforts to combat drug abuse and promote community engagement, Police in Baramulla, under the supervision of SHO Police Station Boniyar, organised a drug awareness program at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Boniyar.As per a statement issued here, the initiative aimed to educate students about various social evils, particularly the devastating effects of drug abuse. Prominent speakers at the event included SHO Police Station Boniyar, Mohd Ashraf, Uzma Qureshi from PDDC Baramulla, Principal GHSS Boniyar Showkat Ahmad Sherwani and Azhar, Lecturer at GHSS. They addressed the students and emphasised the ill effects of drug addiction, the importance of informed and responsible citizenship and the need for collective efforts to combat this growing menace.The speakers encouraged students to remain vigilant and to actively contribute to spreading awareness within their communities, highlighting the critical role youth can play in shaping a drug-free society.“Police reiterate its commitment to eradicating drug abuse and safeguarding the future of younger generations through continued awareness and outreach programs,” the statement stated.
