Handwara, July 02: In a significant move to promote legal awareness and understanding among the youth, Police in Handwara organized an awareness program on new criminal laws at Jamia Qasim Darul Aloom Budkoot, Handwara.A statement issued here revealed that a large number of students participated in the program with great enthusiasm and actively engaged with the chairing officer. The session witnessed interactive discussions, where students sought clarifications and gained valuable insights into the new legal codes.The event was chaired by Addl. SP Handwara Fayaz Ahmad Shah-JKPS, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the key changes introduced under the new criminal legal framework. He emphasized the importance of legal literacy in today’s dynamic environment and urged students to stay informed and aware of their rights and responsibilities.Police continue to remain committed to community engagement and public awareness through such initiatives, aimed at bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community, police officials said.
