ONGC selects young JKCA cricketer ‘Shivansh’ for prestigious Sports Scholarship

Jammu, Sept 06: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC Ltd) has selected J&K’s ace cricketer Shivansh Sharma for the prestigious scholarship for the year 2023-24 to support his endeavour of pursuance of career in cricket.
As per the letter issued to Shivansh by ONGC, he will be paid Rs 25,000 per month (all inclusive) and may avail individual health insurance cover for Rs 5,00,000 (for self only) covering all kinds of injuries, the premium up to Rs 7,000 shall be reimbursed by ONGC on production of original receipt.
“You may be given opportunity to represent ONGC team in PSPB and other National Level tournaments, championships, events within the country with approval of the Head Corporate Sports ONGC for which you will be eligible for TA/DA and stay arrangement as per ONGC Sports Policy. For representing ONGC team, you will be provided playing kits with ONGC logo to be worn during participation in the competitions, ” reads the letter.
The scholarship is being granted by ONGC solely to promote the game he is pursuing and is not in any way to obtain any kind of services from him for furtherance of ONGC’s business, while the grant of scholarship is valid for the period from 01-04-2023 to 03-03-2024 and the scholarship amount will be paid into his Bank Account at the end of each month.
It is pertinent to mention here that Shivansh apart from representing JKCA in almost all age group tournaments and performing well, has the distinction of representing Jammu and Kashmir in the prestigious Ranji Trophy at a very young age.
Presently Shivansh is part of the 15-member JKCA U-23 Men’s team which is proceeding for the JP Attray Memorial Cricket Tournament to be held at Chandigarh from September 20, 2023. 
The Sub Committee Members of JKCA including Brig Anil Gupta, Cricketer Mithun Manhas and Advocate Sunil Sethi have congratulated Shivansh for this landmark achievement.
