Srinagar Dec 19: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) organised the Inter District/Provincial Level selection camp for the National Youth Festival 2024 (NYF-2024) at SP Model Higher Secondary Auditorium here.
The district-level contingents of Boys and Girls from across the Kashmir division participated in various competitions.
The camp witnessed the exceptional talents of the young and blooming artists of Kashmir.
Joint Director Kashmir of the Department Waseem Raja, officially declared the festival open. Also in attendance was the DYSSO Srinagar, Ghulam Hassan Lone. The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from young boys and girls across Kashmir Province, featuring a diverse array of cultural items including group songs, folk music, and dance, as well as solo singing.
“We are incredibly excited to host this inter-district/provincial level youth festival, offering a platform for the talented young artists of Kashmir to showcase their skills,” said JD YSS. “We believe that such events play a crucial role in nurturing and encouraging the artistic talents that exist within our community,” he added.
The festival aims to promote cultural exchange, nurture creativity, and celebrate the rich heritage of Kashmir. With various competitions, performances, and interactive sessions, the event promises to be a memorable occasion for participants and spectators alike.
The District Youth Services and Sports Officer Srinagar expressed gratitude to all participating districts, artists, and individuals who have supported the successful organization of the camp. “Their contributions have played a pivotal role in making this event possible” Lone added.
The National Youth Festival in India is an annual gathering of youth with various activities including competitive ones.
Celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of youth icon Swami Vivekananda, it is organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India in collaboration with one of the State Governments.
