Four persons injured in the deadly Pahalgam terror attack are currently undergoing treatment at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, with one of them reported to be in critical condition, officials confirmed.
Health Minister Sakina Itoo, along with Agriculture Minister Javed Ahmad Dar and several MLAs, visited the hospital to meet the injured and assess the situation.
A health official at GMC Anantnag told Rising Kashmir that four injured individuals have been admitted to the facility. Among them, one has suffered a heart attack (MI), another has an arm injury, and a third has a leg injury. All three are reported to be stable, while a fourth person, who sustained multiple injuries, has undergone surgery and remains in serious condition.
The official also mentioned that the injured were initially treated at the Sub-District Hospital in Pahalgam before being referred to GMC Anantnag for further care.
Speaking to the media, Health Minister Sakina Itoo said that out of the 13 injured brought to GMC Anantnag, one was shifted to SKIMS, four remain admitted at GMC, and the others have been discharged. Tragically, one person succumbed to their injuries.
“The Health Department is doing its best to ensure that the injured receive the best possible care. Our doctors are making every effort to save lives,” said Itoo. She expressed her deep sorrow, adding, “It’s unfortunate, and it should never have happened. No words are enough to condemn this act. Everyone is deeply saddened, especially those who had come to explore the beauty of the region.”
