NIT Srinagar announces winter vacations

Srinagar, Nov 30: National Institute of Technology, Hazratbal Srinagar on Thursday has announced the winter vacation for students and has instructed all hostel boarders to vacate the hostels with immediate effect.
In an official circular, Dean Students Welfare said that pursuant to declaration of winter vacation for students w.e.f 30.11.2023 vide Order No. 60 of 2023 issued under endorsement No. NITS/R/23/600 dated 30.11.2023 all hostel boarders (Boys and girls) are instructed to vacate the hostels with immediate effect.
 “This is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority,” the circular said.
However on 29th November, Prof. Atikur Rehman, incharge Registrar of NIT Srinagar had informed the all students, faculty and Staff through the General Notice 
 “This is to inform you that the Institute will observe a holiday on Thursday, November 30, 2023. All academic activities, including classes, examinations, and administrative work, shall remain suspended on 30th November,” Notice said 
 “This is issued with the approval of Competent Authority,” the notice reads.
 Similarly, the classwork of all semesters and internal examinations in the Islamia College of Science & Commerce Hawal Srinagar remained off on 30th November.
The Principal of Islamia College of Science & Commerce on 29th November have issued an Student notice which reads “Classwork of all the semesters and internal examinations, including T-series shall remain off tomorrow (30-11-2023) and will be rescheduled w.e.from 01-12-2023. However, backlog examinations of 3rd semester shall be conducted as per schedule”.
