Srinagar, Nov 02: In a heartwarming gesture, 114 underprivileged couples joined in matrimony during a mass ceremony organized by the non-governmental organization ‘We The Helping Hand Foundation.’ The event aimed to assist economically disadvantaged families burdened by the high costs of wedding ceremonies. Brides and grooms received essential marriage kits, generously distributed to help them start their new lives together.
What made this occasion remarkable was its inclusive spirit, as representatives from various sects collaborated harmoniously. Shia moulanas presided over couples from the Shia community, while Sunni moulanas guided those from the Sunni community, fostering unity and understanding.
Youth leader Manzoor Bhat graced the event as chief guest, which added significance to the celebration. Esteemed religious leaders, including Moulana Abdul Rashid Dawoodi, Moulana Sajad Mazhari, Moulana Abdul Majid Lolabi, and Bashir Ahmad Budhoo, lent their presence, infusing the ceremony with grace and spirituality.
Couples from diverse districts like Kupwara, Budgam, Kulgam and Bandipora participated, highlighting the initiative’s widespread impact. Notable figures such as Nazir Ahmad Gilkar, Sheikh Mohd Imran and representatives from the Women’s Cells of the District Police were also present, emphasizing the importance of community support. This event exemplified unity, compassion, and positive change, showcasing the immense impact of collective kindness.
