NC pays tributes to former Speaker Shaheed Wali Muhammad Itoo

Srinagar, Mar 17: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah on Saturday paid tributes to veteran leader and former Legislative Assembly Speaker Shaheed Wali Muhammad Itoo on his 30th martyrdom anniversary.
Offering tributes to the veteran leader, the duo said, “Late Itoo’s supreme sacrifice for upholding the high principles of democracy, human dignity and public cause will be remembered for the times to come.”
Hailing his “tremendous vision”, they said that the veteran leader was far ahead of his times. “All his life he worked for Jammu and Kashmir where rural youth, rural women and farmers find expression. He worked tirelessly to achieve that dream of giving new direction to rural development, and poverty alleviation across South Kashmir districts, particularly DH Pora,” they said.  
General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Senior leaders Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Abdul Rahim Rather, Mian Altaf Ahmed, Mubarak Gul, Shameema Firdous, Party MPs Muhammad Akbar Lone, Hasnain Masoodi, Zone Presidents Ali Muhammad Dar, Syed Tauqeer Ahmad, Javed Dar, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, Political Advisors Mushtaq Guroo and Mudassar Shahmiri, Political Advisors Mushtaq Guroo and Mudassar Shahmiri, district presidents Gh Mohiudin Mir, Altaf Kaloo, Showkat Hussain, Ab Majeed Bhat Larmi, YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar women’s wing, Media and Social Media wings, Minority wing have also paid rich tributes to the party veteran on his 30th death anniversary.
The party functionaries also paid tributes to Abdul Samad Teli and Khawaja Muhammad Akbar Ganaie on their death anniversaries. 
The party said it will commemorate the late leader’s death anniversary on 18th March in DH Pora. The main commemorative function will be organised by party leader and State Secretary Sakina Itoo. Senior party leadership is expected to join her in paying tributes to the late leader.
