Srinagar, Jun 26: A delegation of Block Committee members from Udhampur, led by District President Udhampur Sunil Verma, visited the residence of National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah here on Thursday.

The delegation, which also included the newly appointed Additional Spokesperson Akash Verma, engaged in detailed discussions with Dr Farooq on various aspects of the party’s functioning, public concerns, and the future course of action, the party said in a statement issued here.

During the meeting, the NC chief emphasised the importance of strengthening the party at the grassroots level. He urged the Block Committee members to act as a bridge between the public, the government, and the party, ensuring effective communication and addressing the concerns of the people.

“It is essential that party functionaries are in close touch with the common people. They should be the vital link in facilitating the government’s policies and initiatives at the ground level,” Dr Abdullah said.
