Srinagar, Sep 22: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar on Friday asked the party cadre to gear up for upcoming polls and work in complete synchronization and chart out ward-wise poll campaigns under a meticulously planned result-oriented strategy.
Sagar said this while welcoming SMC Corporator Zarina Bano, along with her hundreds of followers into the party fold here at the party headquarters here, the NC said in a statement. YNC Provincial President and I/C Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar, Deputy Mayor SMC Parvez Qadri, and SM In Charge Ifra Jan were also present on the occasion.
“The victory of the National Conference is the only solution for bidding farewell to all the problems being faced by the common people,” Sagar said, adding, “The sufferings of the people are multiplying with each passing day in the absence of a popular government elected by duly holding elections to the J&K Assembly. The LG administration has totally failed in controlling the shooting prices of essential items, unemployment, problems of daily wagers, scams in the Medical Department, Jal Shakti department and recruitment agencies.”
After holding detailed deliberations and discussions on the strategy for upcoming elections, he directed the party cadre to hold meetings in all the wards and formulate a programme to carry out poll campaigns in all the wards of Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
Sagar highlighted the “utter failure of SMC” in providing proper civic amenities to the people of Srinagar. He criticised the government for “wasting taxpayers’ money on non-productive works under the so-called Srinagar Smart City project that has been causing more inconvenience to people rather than easing their lives”.
