National Sports Day Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm & Fervour in Anantnag

Anantnag, Aug 29: National Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour by the the Department of Youth Services and Sports across the district Anantnag today Friday.The grand function was organised at Govt Middle school Bondailgam, wherein the worthy Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Anantnag Mr. Sandeep Singh Bali (JKAS) graced the function as chief guest. He was accompanied by DYSSO Anantnag Raja Yaqoob, Chief Education officer Anantnag Kishore Kumar and other officials YSS Department.On the occasion, Several Sports events as well as recreational activities were held. During the function an Exhibition Tag of War match between officials of Achabal Zone and Anantnag Zone was conducted to entertain the attendees of the function. On the conclusion of the function, an Appreciation Award Ceremony was held by DYSSO Anantnag to felicitated the field officials for their unperrellel contribution in developing the sports culture across the district.The chief guest of the occasion Mr. Sandeep Singh Bali (JKAS) presented the appropriation Awards to the officials and gives them his blessings. While addressing the attendees, Mr. Sandeep Singh Bali (JKAS) highlighted the contribution of sports legend and magical Hockey personality Dayan Chand in the memory of whom the day is celebrated throughout the country.He further appreciated the role of YSS Department in Developing sports culture in the society. Simultaneously, National Sports Day functions and events were also conducted across the zones and schools of the district, wherein different Sports events and Pledge of National Sports Day was conducted.The activities includes: Pledge (National Sports Day), Yoga Sessions, Chess, Carrom, Badminton, Volleyball, Kho Kho Kabbadi, Tennis Ball Cricket, Table Tennis, Tag of War and other Minor Sports activities were conducted across the District. In these activities, huge number of students participated with zeal and zest.The Celebration of National Sports day 2025 was actively participated by a huge number of students and field staff of district Anantnag.
