National Food Security Act: With over 90% beneficiary registration, Pulwama secures top spot

Srinagar, Feb 26: Pulwama has secured the top spot among the ten districts in the Kashmir division with a remarkable 90.22% registration of beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) as of February 25, 2024.
The data, obtained from the latest Dashboard data available with Rising Kashmir, reveals that out of a total of 483,395 NFSA/Non-NFSA beneficiaries, Pulwama has 436,112 registered NFSA beneficiaries, showcasing a high percentage of 90.22% availing the benefits.
The South Kashmir district Shopian with a total of 248682 NFSA/Non NFSA beneficiaries has 220841 registered beneficiaries, exhibiting a percentage of 88.80 percent.
Kulgam with a total of 377503 of NFSA/Non NFSA beneficiaries has 323630 registered beneficiaries, exhibiting a percentage of 85.73 percent.
The Central Kashmir district Budgam with a total of 586219 of NFSA/Non NFSA beneficiaries has 496374 registered beneficiaries, exhibiting a percentage of 84.67 percent.
Anantnag district with a total of 790657 beneficiaries under NFSA/Non NFSA has 650876 registered beneficiaries, exhibiting a percentage of 88.80 percent availing the benefits.
Bandipora on the other hand with a total of 327031 beneficiaries under NFSA/Non NFSA has 262407 registered beneficiaries, exhibiting a percentage of 80.24%.
Baramulla with 892416 NFSA/Non NFSA beneficiaries has 712034 registered beneficiaries, exhibiting a percentage of 79.79 percent.
Summer-capital Srinagar with 816084 NFSA/Non NFSA beneficiaries has 617768 registered beneficiaries, exhibiting a percentage of 75.70 percent.
In contrast, Kupwara, a district in North Kashmir, holds the lowest position on the list, with only 68.61% registration among its 675,435 NFSA/Non-NFSA beneficiaries.
