Srinagar, Feb 25: Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board & National Executive Member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of celebrating young women leadership in India, saying significant strides were made in empowering women across the country over the past decade.
Dr Andrabi was speaking as a chief guest at the Yuvti Sammelan (Young Women Leaders Convention) at Amar Singh Club Srinagar, organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Jammu and Kashmir.
The event witnessed a significant turnout of young women leaders from the BJP, showcasing the party’s commitment to promoting leadership among women. Among the guests were Arpita Aparajita Badahena, National VP of BJYM, and Amandeep Singh, National Media Secretary of BJYM. Mr Arun Prabhat Ji, President of BJYM J&K, and Bilal Parray, National Executive Member of BJYM.
Young women leaders of BJYM shared their experiences in public life and highlighted their roles as change-makers in society and their contributions to various spheres. They also underscored the importance of women’s leadership in shaping the nation’s future.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Darakhshan commended BJYM for providing a unique platform to harness the potential of women leaders.
“Nari Shakti is the real power of India,” she affirmed, adding that women have a pivotal role in the nation’s progress. She applauded the young women leaders of Jammu and Kashmir for their achievements, saying the region has witnessed remarkable empowerment since August 2019.
“J&K has also started on the same pace as that of other parts of the country and our young women have excelled in every sphere of life,” she said.
The Waqf chairperson urged the young leaders to step forward with confidence and vision to serve the people and contribute to India’s growth story.
